Synopsis[]
Bumper does damage control at Pretzel Fest; Pieter confronts an old flame.
Plot Summary[]
Pieter talks to Bumper in a dumpster, encouraging him to perform. He tells him he has Pieter and Heidi and he can do this. Bumper goes out there and performs a different song than the one he was planning- it’s a hit and he thinks he has his ticket to perform at Germany Unity Day.
Gisela confronts Bumper after the show. He lies to her telling her he has an original song to perform at Unity Day but she tells him he’s like a little dog and won’t be able to sing. She walks off and Pieter seems flustered.
Pieter goes to his sister Thea, begging her to help him produce a song with Bumper. She tells him no but Heidi runs after her and convinces her to take a risk on an unknown artist. Thea agrees and tells them they have one day to make a song before coming to her studio.
They go to her studio but Bumper is blowing his chance. He can’t come up with a song and Thea is disappointed. Heidi helps Bumper get inspired. They go take a walk and play a public piano. Heidi makes up a song on the spot and Bumper is impressed by her talent. Bumper goes back to the studio and starts to play Heidi’s song, trying to get inspired, but Thea hears it and presses him to keep going with it. Begrudgingly, Bumper does, even though he knows it’s not his song to play.
Thea makes a hit out of the song and sends it to Pieter. Everyone is waiting at Pieter’s office to celebrate Bumper’s hit with champagne. Bumper wants to tell Heidi what happens but doesn’t get the chance. They play the song and Heidi realizes what he did. She tells them she has to go and runs out of the office.
