Synopsis[]
After receiving a call from an old friend, Bumper moves to Berlin to pursue his musical dreams.
Plot Summary[]
Bumper performs acapella with a few other men in a church. They are preparing for a performance at one of the men’s nana’s nursery home. Bumper is desperately trying to continue his career singing but he’s struggling. One of the men suggests he start telemarketing because he needs a job. Bumper seems down that his life didn’t turn out as he expected.
He receives a call from Germany- from Pieter Krämer, his former acapella rival, who tells him one of his videos went viral and that he’s famous in Germany. Pieter insists he fly out to Germany so Peter can manage his career. Bumper decides to hop on a plane and meet Pieter, along with his assistant Heidi Miller. They welcome him to Germany and set him up in a local hostel.
However, it doesn’t take long for Bumper to realize that Pieter wasn’t entirely honest when trying to get him here. Bumper only went viral for a TikTok where his p*nis fell out, not for his singing. He still insists Bumper try to make it here and lines up a performance for him.
Bumper is upset and goes to Heidi for comfort. He hears her sing, under the pseudonym Karen Fraren, and is impressed. She convinces him to perform because it’s what he loves to do. He agrees and goes to the performance venue the following day. However, Pieter’s ex, Gisela, is there and she performs first. She sings 99 Luftballoons, which is the song Bumper was planning on singing. Bumper gets freaked out and runs off.
